  abstract = {This chapter explores some possible directions of future research on the contextual aspects of the phenomenon of polyrepresentation and the usability of the notion to understand the nature and scope of relevance of informative things held at diverse collections and the nature of the collections. The eventual relevance of the proposed approach relates to bringing together contextual information from across the broad spectrum of general and specialised information collections and institutions including libraries, museums, archives and a broad range of public and commercial web services and thus contribute to understanding of the premises of the interoperability of information collections.
