Health information behaviour, health information literacy and e-health

Information studies symposium (Informaatiotutkimuksen päivät 2016) will be held at University of Tampere 3.-4. November 2016. In the symposium the current phenomena of information studies are explored through the perspectives of professional practices as well as research. Please, participate and send an extended abstract of your presentation (3500 - 7000 characters, spaces included) in the rtf format no later than 5th September 2016 by email to the workshop organizer.

The outline for the extended abstract:

  •   title

  •   authors, affiliations, email addresses

  •   text of the presentation

  •   references

The length of the presentations is 20 minutes plus additional 10 minutes for discussion. Depending of the number and character of the presentations the workshop might be organized in different ways.

The language of the presentations may be Finnish, English or Swedish. The seminar rooms have normal presentation equipment; should you have special wishes, please, contact workshop organizers and Jaana Kekäläinen ( Notification of the acceptance of presentations is no later than 19th September 2016.

The extended abstract will be published in Informaatiotutkimus journal. The journal welcomes also further elaborated manuscripts based on the abstracts. Please, contact the editor-in-chief Susanna Nykyri:

Työryhmään toivotaan esityksiä, jotka liittyvät terveystietokäyttäytymiseen, terveystietoon, terveystiedon lukutaitoon, e-terveyteen ja muihin terveyttä, hyvinvointia ja informaatiotutkimusta käyttäjänäkökulmasta sivuaviin aiheisiin. Esityksiä toivotaan sekä tutkijoilta että terveydenhuollon että informaatioalan ammattilaisilta. Esityksiä voi ehdottaa pidettäväksi ruotsiksi, suomeksi tai englanniksi.
